I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University. I was born in Suzhou (苏州), China. I studied condensed matter physics at Nanjing University for my undergrad, then earned my MASc degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto, where I was advised by Ted Sargent (now at Northwestern). I received my Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Science at Cornell University, where I was advised by Carla Gomes. I also interned at the Mila – Québec AI Institute. Back in ancient times (2016), I worked with Ping Sheng in the Department of Physics at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
