Openings: Join My Group

I am starting my group in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Texas A&M University. I have several openings for Ph.D. students starting in 2027 and am also considering postdoctoral researchers. I am especially interested in working with people excited about AI for science, generative models, geometric deep learning, and computational sustainability.

A background in physics or mathematics is a plus but is by no means required. What matters most is curiosity and a willingness to get your hands dirty with both theory and experiments.

Why Texas A&M for AI? Compute, among other things. The university tripled its supercomputing capacity with a $45 million NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD: 95 DGX H200 nodes carrying 760 NVIDIA H200 GPUs on Quantum-2 InfiniBand. The resulting machine, VISION, delivers 34.8 petaflops and debuted at No. 66 on the June 2026 TOP500 list, making it the fastest university supercomputer in the nation. Training large generative models and running large-scale scientific simulations here is not a bottleneck.

Prospective Ph.D. students: please apply to the Texas A&M CSE graduate program and mention my name in your application. Feel free to email me as well, with your CV, transcript, and a brief research statement.

Postdocs: I am also open to postdoctoral researchers with a strong record in machine learning, physics, chemistry, materials science, or applied mathematics. Please email me your CV, two or three representative papers, and a brief research statement.

Current Aggies: I also welcome motivated master’s and undergraduate students interested in research projects. Get in touch by email.
